It was announced today that E L James’s Fifty Shades trilogy has officially outsold J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series (seven books), making her the bestselling author of all time at amazon.co.uk. And it only took four months!
*pops cork and pours pink champagne*
EU director of Kindle Gordon Willoughby was quoted as saying, “If JK Rowling was the literary phenomenon of the last decade, then EL James looks certain to take that mantle in the current decade.”
The original book in the series, Fifty Shades of Grey, broke a separate British record back in June when it became the fastest paperback to hit one million in sales, taking just 11 weeks to get there.
While Fifty Shades is still sitting at the top of Amazon’s US bestseller list for both print and Kindle, it hasn’t broken records like in the UK . . . yet!

In less than two weeks I read all three books, thanks to EL James and her website I also listened to each sound track for each book. I’m now going to read them all over!!! What every woman needs!!!
