Fifty Shades of Grey Official Pleasure Collection Launching in U.S.

Lovehoney announced in a press release today (here) that the top-selling UK line will be available for sale in North America starting on April 8th.

As we mentioned back in October (here), this is the only officially licensed pleasure product line for the Fifty Shades of Grey trademarked franchise. E L James worked closely with the company to ensure that fans would be able to purchase high-quality products inspired by the trilogy.

“I’m delighted to see the authentic Fifty Shades of Grey Official Pleasure Collection finally available in the USA, the home of Ana and Christian,” says E L James. “Americans were the first to succumb to the intensity of their passionate romance, and every item in this luxurious official collection has been specially chosen by me to help fans of the trilogy enjoy the Fifty Shades experience on a whole new level.”

Distributors have yet to be named, but we will keep you updated as soon as that information is made available.

Just in Time for the Holidays: 50 Shades of Grey Party Game

CopCorp Licensing confirmed that this game is part of the officially licensed merchandise approved by E L James.

Imagination, a games company, was chosen to team up for the production. “We are delighted to be partnering with E L James on this project,” said Shane Yeend, CEO Imagination. “The 50 Shades books are a bona fide cultural phenomenon, and they offer an exciting new play pattern for our range of party games that allows everyone to finally reveal their Inner Goddess.”

The game will reveal “how you see your friends and how your friends see you” by having players listen to naughty questions and then secretly voting for the friend that best matches the question.

There will also be a ‘Red Room’ expansion pack that promises to add to the ‘Adults Only’ fun.

UK retailers will be able to order inventory starting on December 6th. So stay tuned for ordering information.

We know. We know! The UK is getting ALL the good stuff early. According to the CopCorp spokesperson we spoke to, they hope to have news soon for US fans as well.

OFFICIAL Fifty Shades of Grey Merchandise

The official Fifty Shades of Grey line of merchandise is starting to hit stores! E L James was thrilled to see fans wearing t-shirts from Hot Topic on her recent U.S. Book Tour.

The CopCorp Licensing spokesperson we talked to said, “Hot Topic is a retail partner where fans can look for official merchandise. In a few weeks, fans should also be able to find officially licensed merchandise (starting with t-shirts) at Amazon, Icing, and other retailers.”

Fans can look forward to t-shirts, fashion knit tops, hoodies, loungewear, sleepwear, hosiery, and more from licensed retail companies FREEZE Clothing (which includes Hot Topic), Briefly Stated, and HYP.

It was also announced today that the author has partnered with UK company Lovehoney for an official Fifty Shades of Grey Collection of sex toys inspired by the books.

According to Team Fifty, Lovehoney “is for UK, Europe and Australia and we hope to have some news re the US sex toy business very soon.”

The main thing to keep in mind is that there is a lot of unauthorized merchandise out there. The official brand name is FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. For example, you will be able to identify official apparel because it will have FIFTY SHADES OF GREY printed beneath the graphic design followed by a “TM” (trademark).
